  SAGAMERS

SAGAMERS is as close to a name as our gaming group has and we take that from our mailing list (see below). SPQT: Aquitania is only one of the campaigns we have played or are playing.

Our other frequently run campaign is the Oramin campaign. In this campaign, we play youths from a small village that has been isolated for generations who must leave home when the outside world intrudes searching for an evil artifact that happens to be in the region. For more information, see: http://www.txdirect.net/~griffin/oramin/oramin02.htm

Other campaigns we play from time to time include:

  • Colonization 2 -- This is the successor to Colonization, which was a Harn game about an expidition sent to explore Kamerand (part of 'the new world' in Harn). In this campaign, the players were sent to find out what happened to the previous expedition. It went on hiatus when D&D 3e came out and I began work on what became SQPT.

  • Waterdeep -- Our AD&D 2e S&P campaign. We started as younger sons and daughters of various Waterdhavian noble houses seeking to make our mark on the world. In the end, we were rather powerful with lands and mercantile operations of our own. Andrew was the original DM, but Ryan took over for him and continued the game until it ended. We finally stopped after 3e came out so Ryan could start Oramin. The Waterdeep game can be found on the web here: http://www.txdirect.net/~griffin/waterdeep/wd_adlog.htm

  • "Al's German Game" -- A Fantasy Hero game set in a small village in what may or may not be Germany before Roman Contact. In any case, we're Germanic types, which often results in Al (the GM), Peni and I sitting around and annoying people by talking about Tacitus and other sources of information about the early Germans. We are various villagers who have, so far, been solving local problems. Recently, some larger scale problems have developed and there are hints of a wider world out there with things like chain mail and WINE, so we may end up venturing away from home. This game runs very infrequently.

  • Raven's Bluff -- A AD&D 2e S&P campaign set in the Forgotten Realms city of Raven's Bluff. The players are all orphans who have been through the Hands of Mercy orphanage and know one or more of the other players from there. The other thing we have in common is that we're reforming thieves who are simply trying to 'go straight'. This is not always as easy as it might seem. The campaign runs very infrequently. More information can be found at: http://www.txdirect.net/~griffin/ravens_bluff/rb_adlog.htm
  SAGAMERS

Originally, our gaming group communicated via e-mail sent to each member individually. The problem was that someone could forget an email address or leave out a list of them in a reply. This meant that communication was spotty at times, so we decided to set up a mailing list for the group. It became active in 1999 on Onelist, which was subsequently bought by EGroups, which was subsequently bought by Yahoo. So it is that we now have our own private YahooGroup called SAGAMERS.

This page is intended as an aid to new members of our gaming group. We prefer that everyone in the group join the mailing list so they can keep up with what's going on. We use the list to coordinate gaming days and times, send out adventure summaries, discuss things like treasure division, distribute experience, and occasionally someone sends out an odd item they feel will be interesting to the entire group.

In particular, the list automatically sends out a reminder each Tuesday asking people to let everyone know if they are available. This doesn't get used as often as we would like, but we try.

Use the form below to subscribe. Just replace the text in the box with your email address and click on the purple box. The list is set so that I or Damon has to approve new subscribers, so you will have to wait until one of us gets the email and logs in to approve you. Once that happens, you will start getting email from the list. Don't worry. It's pretty low volume.

Note: This list is for members of the group only.

Messages from the list will be prefixed with: [sagamers]
That makes it easy to tell what's a private message and what's public.

The address to mail the group is sagamers@yahoogroups.com

Once you are a member of the list, you can visit the webpage at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sagamers

The main benefit to this page is that it will allow you to view the archive of old messages on the list.
